F_syn is a range of synthesizer modules for use in Cherry Audio’s Voltage Modular.
The module-series were programmed to have a computer version of the hardware Formant that Hans built back in 1976-1977.
With an original hardware modular synthesizer there is no way of having presets whereas a software version can ofcourse be expanded and programmed to add newer functions and possibilities…
While my original Formant had 4 VCOs, 6 filters, 4 ADSRs, 2 VCAs, 2 LFOs and a COM module, in the software version all those modules are present and can be used in a patch multiple times.
Further extra tools like sequencer and many more were programmed to the large set of more than 30 modules that it is now.

The image above shows a more elaborate patch using 32 modules, with multiple oscillators, filters, envelopes, sequencers and more.
Like in a hardware version, modules are connected using cable to route from an output to an input.
The big advantage of using software versions is that you can add as many modules as your system can handle…
